Routine Inspections
The Association would like to notify our tenants and Owner Occupiers within the Rutherglen area that ABS Surveyors will be carrying out asbestos checks within our closes and backyard areas from Monday the 6th, Feb, 2012
These checks are routine and we would like to reassure residents that there is no cause for any concern. Tradesmen working on behalf of the Association should carry identification, which you should ask to see if you have any concerns about security etc.
New Works Contracts
The Association will advertise details of any proposed works contracts that it intends to put out to competitive tender and require to be advertised in this area of the website. Contractors who are interested in tendering for the work will be able to download details of the proposed work and pre qualifyig requirements.
At the moment there are no contracts pending.

Care of Gardens Scheme
In April 2011, the Association received notification that South Lanarkshire Council’s Free Care of Garden Scheme had ended. Following discussion, the Associations Management Committee decided that the Association should take on responsibility for tenants, who through old age or disability could not manage their gardens.
The Association went on to appoint one of our own garden contractors (C.M.C. Contracts) who have now started the work which will assist over 50 of our tenants to manage their gardens over the summer months.
Association Discusses Welfare Reforms with Tom Greatrex MP
The Association recently met with our newly elected MP, Tom Greatrex. Members of the Associations management committee took the opportunity to highlight the issues facing the Association and it's tenants. We discussed the proposed changes to Housing Benefit and the impact this will have. While the government has since dropped the idea of reducing housing benefit by 10% for people unemployed for more than a year, there are still a number of proposed reforms that could have unintended consequences for housing associations.
